Dyno & flash tuning questions
Flash or dyno tune — which do I need?
Stock or lightly modified bike: an ECU flash ($375 Japanese brands, $425 BMW, Harley-Davidson, Ducati and Aprilia) removes factory restrictions and smooths throttle response the same day. Exhaust, filter or cams: a custom dyno tune ($925–$1,400 by brand) maps fuel and timing to your actual parts.
How long does it take?
ECU flashes and suspension setup are usually same-day. A custom dyno tune is typically a full day depending on pulls and adjustments. Most units are in and out in 3–5 business days.
Does a stock bike benefit?
Yes. Most sport bikes ship with restrictive factory maps. A flash alone wakes up throttle response and mid-range on a stock bike.
Can I mail in my ECU?
Yes. Pull the ECU, ship it to us, we flash it and send it back. Ask the advisor for the shipping instructions for your model.
Will tuning void my warranty?
Flashes are fully reversible to stock. Aftermarket tuning can affect coverage on emissions-related components, so we talk through your bike and situation before any work starts.
Do I have to bring my bike to Dallas for a dyno tune?
No. Drop it in Houston and it rides our weekly shuttle to the Dallas dyno, gets tuned, and comes back on the next run. Ask the advisor for the current round-trip timing when you book. Mail-in ECU flashes are accepted too.
Where is the dyno?
Our chassis dyno is at the Dallas–Fort Worth store in Grand Prairie. Houston handles ECU flashes and suspension setup in-house; custom dyno tunes go up on the weekly shuttle.
